Asia-Pacific markets ended mixed on Tuesday as investors digested comments from former US President Donald Trump suggesting a trade agreement with China had been reached. Japan's Nikkei 225 shed 0.65 per cent to close at 38,173.09, while the broader Topix index slipped 0.21 per cent to 2,782.97. South Korea's Kospi gained 0.45 per cent to end at 2,920.03, and the tech-heavy Kosdaq advanced 0.4 per cent to 789.45. Australia's S&P/ASX 200 edged down 0.31 per cent to 8,565.1, while Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index lost 1.11 per cent.
