Asia-Pacific markets rose on Wednesday as trade talks between the US and China resulted in a deal, according to officials from both countries. Mainland China's CSI 300 index increased by 0.75 per cent to end the day at 3,894.63, and Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index also saw a 0.79 per cent rise. Japan's Nikkei 225 index rose by 0.55 per cent to finish the trading day at 38,421.19, while the broader Topix index remained unchanged at 2,788.72. In South Korea, the Kospi index increased by 1.23 per cent to end at 2,907.04, reaching its highest level since January 2022 based on LSEG data. The Kosdaq, which focuses on small-cap stocks, surged by 1.96 per cent to close at 786.29. Australia's S&P/ASX 200 index rose by 0.06 per cent to end the day at 8,592.1, reaching a new high during the session. The Nifty 50 index also saw a 0.43 per cent increase in trading.
