Egypt's Deputy Health Minister Mohamed El-Tayeb made an unannounced nighttime inspection of a key medical warehouse in North Sinai to strengthen supply chain efficiency and ensure hospitals are prepared for emergencies, the ministry said on Thursday. The visit followed instructions from Deputy Prime Minister and Health Minister Khaled Abdel Ghaffar to enhance logistics and safeguard the availability of essential medicines and equipment in the governorate, the statement said. El-Tayeb said North Sinai currently holds a strong reserve of medical supplies and ordered storage systems to be reorganised for faster inventory handling and distribution. He directed officials to establish a committee for routine audits to ensure quality control and prevent shortages. He also reviewed drug dispensing procedures, calling for closer checks on expiration dates and requiring that any performance issues be resolved within 72 hours. Attribution: Amwal Al Ghad English
