Egyptian Drug Authority (EDA) Chairman Ali El-Ghamrawy met virtually with the Director General of Zambian Medicines Regulatory Authority (ZAMRA) Makomani Siyanga to align technical perspectives on implementing the June 2024 MoU. The meeting aimed to expedite the memorandum's entry into force, serving the mutual interests of both parties and enhancing regulatory cooperation, according to a Cabinet statement. El-Ghamrawy reiterated Egypt's gratitude for its pharmaceutical collaboration with Zambia, highlighting the joint efforts to address the healthcare needs of Zambian citizens with Egyptian pharmaceuticals and maintain their presence in the Zambian market. He also stated that the EDA is committed to supporting Zambia's regulatory system by providing technical expertise and training based on the latest international standards adopted by the authority. El-Ghamrawy also emphasised that the meeting reflects the EDA's ongoing efforts to strengthen its strategic relations across Africa and to activate meaningful partnerships that contribute to regional pharmaceutical and industrial integration. He added that the memorandum represents a shared vision and commitment to improving public health and meeting the Zambian market's demand for Egyptian pharmaceutical products.
