Several bombshells have been dropped by the investigations of the Supreme State Security Prosecution into the Hussein bombings. Weapons, explosives, anti-tank rockets, car bombs and explosive belts were found in possession of the accused, something unprecedented in terror cases in Egypt. The accused are three Belgians, a Frenchman, a Briton, two Palestinian brothers from the Gaza Strip and five Egyptians. According to the investigations, some of those Europeans entered the Gaza Strip and were trained by armed Palestinian militias. Al-Masry Al-Youm unveils for the first time the details of the investigations. Security services have seized the weapons inside some houses in the village of Abou Faqim in Northern Sinai a few days ago. They belong to the two Palestinian brothers, Hisham and Ahmed Abdel Rahman Khalil el-Saie. The weapons have been impounded by sovereign bodies and the latter wrote the administrative procès-verbal No. 5. According to the investigations (No. 230 of the Supreme State Security inventory), the two Palestinians sneaked into Egypt through Gaza tunnels to carry out some terrorist operations entrusted by the leader of the group, an Egyptian runaway called Khaled Mohamed Ahmed from Beni Suef. Mr. Ahmed is the man in charge of the Global Islamic Front, affiliated to al-Qaeda. Three years ago, he fled to Gaza and was at the head of the operations assigned to the two Palestinian brothers. These operations consisted in blowing up gas lines to Israel and monitoring Israeli ships in the Suez Canal before laying out a plan to blow up some of them. The information provided by the accused when they were questioned were indeed surprising for the security authorities, as it showed how al-Qaeda official in Gaza has been able to transfer funds into Egypt . Al-Qaeda managed to receive such money in coordination with Dodi Hoxha, the French woman accused, who had instead denied knowing about the funds that she had handed over to Mr. Khaled Mohamed Ahmed's wife, Fatima Moussa Farghali. Mrs. Farghali has also been included among the accused.
The investigations have revealed that some of those Europeans entered the Gaza Strip and were trained by armed Palestinian militias to use grenades, mines and car bombs, in addition to carry out street fighting.
