Egypt's Ministry of Civil Aviation confirmed on Tuesday that a brief and limited power outage occurred at Cairo International Airport, but emphasised that operations continued without disruption, as per a Cabinet statement. The incident, which was circulated on several news websites, was caused by a momentary failure in the backup power line feeding the Cairo Air Navigation Centre. Authorities immediately coordinated with the electricity company, which confirmed that repair works are currently underway. The ministry assured that the airport's main power line is stable and functional. The airport and air navigation centre have backup power sources and generators to ensure continuous operation. It also commended the preparedness of its operations and emergency teams, praising the swift coordination with the Ministry of Electricity and other relevant authorities, as stated in the release.
