Security Sources: a Turkish, a Moroccan and Others behind Cairo Bombing
Published in Almasry Alyoum on 05 - 03 - 2009

Egyptian sources from inside the team investigating into the Cairo bombings dropped a bombshell when they affirmed that Egypt was facing a new kind of terrorism, this time coming from abroad.
They said those who carried out the bombings in el-Hussein area, which left a French woman dead and 24 others wounded, were a Turkish, a Moroccan woman and others.
The sources refused to unveil the names of the accused or any other information or detail.
They pointed out that the Ministry of Interior would very soon announce those bombers and the details of their arrest after the investigations with them were over and the legal measures in their regard were taken.
The sources said that Egypt had strong security services capable of keeping the country safe, adding that the recent events in Gaza and Egypt's stance on issues and specific states' tendencies were among the main reasons why tourists had been targeted on Sunday night, February 22.
Al-Masry Al-Youm has learnt that lengthy interrogations are being carried out with those suspected of having relations with the accused and the bombing. These investigations aim to unveil how the accused entered the country and got the explosive materials to make the explosive devices, and where such devices were made.
Meanwhile, Cairo security services, led by Major Generals Ismail Shaer (First Assistant Interior Minister), Farouk Lashin and Amin Ezz Eddin, continued searching the furnished flats and third-level hotels which are not very much controlled by the security forces and are a haven for outlaws.
The investigation teams have benefited from former terrorists who have changed their ideas.
Such attack just aimed to send a message, frighten tourists and persuade them that Egyptian security services could not protect them.
