Elmohamady plays as Sunderland lose to Norwich City Egyptian winger Ahmed Elmohamady played the full 90 minutes but could not help Sunderland avoid a defeat against Norwich City in Monday's Premier League game
Newly-promoted side Norwich City claimed a surprise 2-1 victory over Ahmed Elmohamady's Sunderland in the Premier League on Monday. The 25-year-old Egyptian international was in included inSteve Bruce's starting XI and produced a fine performance with his famed darting runs down the flanks but that wasn't apparently enough to create enough chances for Sunderland's strikers. Leon Barnett opened the scoring for the hosts in the 31st minute, and Steve Morison doubled the lead three minutes after the restart. Kieran Richardson scored Sunderland's consolation goal in the 85th minute of the game. The result leaves Sunderland in the 14th place of the Premier League table with just five points out of six games while Norwich City climbed to the 9th place with 8 points.
