DAKAHLIA, Egypt: A member of the Committee of Antiquities at the High Council for Culture Sobhi Attiyah Yunis warned of a Jewish incursion in Egypt through excavations for antiquities. Yunis is adamant there are Jewish ambitions in the East Delta region, where they want to find a new Abu Hassira in Sharqia governorate in Tal el-Dabaa village. He told Youm7: “The problem with the pyramids trip planned for Nov. 11 was its part in old attempts to link Egypt with Jews and what is happening now is that some fanatical Zionist groups are trying to respond to the recent attack on the Israeli embassy.” Yunis said after the peace treaty, former Israeli Prime Minister Begin said those who built the pyramids were Jews when in fact Israel appeared more than 1,500 years after the pyramids' completion. He also pointed out that until the 1952 Revolution, foreigners had full control over the Egyptian department of antiquities to reformulate ancient Egyptian history, according to their vision. Ancient archeologists were seeking holy places mentioned in the Bible in Egypt, Palestine and Iraq where the science of archeology started and was linked to the establishment of Israel. 70 percent of the archeologists who worked in the field were Zionists trying to make Palestinian antiquities part of the Jewish history when in reality the antiquities have no relations with Jews whatsoever. Yunis revealed the Jews' plans concerning the East Delta region are due to it being the eastern entrance in to Egypt. He added Jews were given the right to excavate the San Hagar region for 50 years to discover Jewish antiquities. Egyptian archeologist Labib Habashy revealed that San Hagar was in Faqous and includes Qantir village, Tal El-Dabaa, the big and small Roshdy manors. It was assured that this region was the old capital of the Hyksos and the capital in Ramses II's era.
