In Dakahlia, supporters of Mohamed el-Baradei's presidential campaign issued a statement in solidarity with the April 6 Youth movement and its support for sit-ins in squares across Egypt. The April 6 movement was criticized by Egypt's ruling military council today. Statement No. 69, issued on the military's Facebook page, accused the youth movement of attempting to drive a wedge between the army and the Egyptian people. The Dakahlia group announced its support for the youth movement's sit-ins and emphasized that these sit-ins aim to execute the demands of Egypt's January 25 Revolution and to realize the desire of every Egyptian citizen who can feel that there is real political progress in Egyptian political life. The statement continued to describe the April 6 movement's members as the “faithful” whose role in exposing the scandals of the former regime cannot be denied. It also highlighted the groups role in mobilizing Egyptians to come out and join the demonstrations that toppled the former regime.
