Ahli manager Hossam Al-Badri has confirmed that midfield star Mohamed Abou-Treika will be with the team in the Champions League final despite his club ban. Abou-Treika has been handed a two-month ban by Ahli for refusing to play the Egypt Super Cup last month, in support of the club fans who stood against resuming domestic football. Ahli's disciplinary decision was announced on September 10, which meant that Abou-Treika was supposed to miss the Champions League final first-leg on November 2/3/4. However, the Reds will now be boosted by the return of their star man against Esperance. Ban over “Abou-Treika will return to the team in the final. His ban is over and he will be with us," Al-Badri told Al-Jazeera Sport TV after Sunday's semi-final victory over Sunshine Stars. “Hopefully the return of Abou-Treika and other important members like Sayed Moawad and Walid Soliman will have a positive impact on the team in the final." Despite missing half his team's last eight games, Abou-Treika remains Ahli's top scorer in the Champions League, lying second overall after Berekum Chelsea's Emmanuel Clottey.
