Ahmed Al-Shennawi could be changing destination from Zamalek to Lierse, according to the Egypt goalkeeper's father. Al-Shennawi, who is almost certain to leave Masri this summer, has been strongly tipped to join Zamalek after his bid to move to Spain's Real Betis had failed. The 20-year-old wonderkid revealed that a switch to Cairo appeal to him, but is still maintaining hope to move to Europe via the Egyptian-owned Lierse. “I will meet with Lierse officials today to talk about Ahmed's future,” Nasser Al-Shennawi, Ahmed's father, told FilGoal.com. “He wishes to play abroad but we are waiting for the approval of chairman Kamel Abou-Ali to see which club will make the highest bid. “Ahmed wants to be settled before the London Olympics. He doesn't wish to wait.” Al-Shennawi – currently with the Egypt first team – is expected to be in goal when the U-23 team play at the Olympic Games next month. The highly-rated keeper is on a five-year contract at Masri, who are banned from all domestic competitions next season.
