Egypt guardian Ahmed Al-Shennawi is hoping for a massive upgrade from Masri's lowest earner to a UEFA Champions League player. The 20-year-old wonderkid is set to open talks with his club over a new deal, while his superb emergence suggests that a move to Europe is on the cards. “I met with chairman Kamel Abou-Ali and there has been an agreement over a new contract,” Al-Shennawi, who is tied with Masri until 2014, told FilGoal.com. “I am just asking for an improved contract as a key player as I am currently the lowest-earning member of the team. “I don't want to play for any other club in Egypt but Masri and I am ready to sign a new deal.” UEFA Champions League
Meanwhile, Al-Shennawi greeted Egypt mate Ahmed Hegazi after the latter's transfer from Ismaili to Fiorentina had been agreed. “I wish him good luck with Fiorentina after he had proven himself with the national team,” he added. “I hope to make this dream move to Europe and I promise Hegazi that one day we will meet in the Champions League!” Al-Shennawi and Hegazi played a pivotal role in helping Egypt make the 2012 Olympic Games in London by winning third place in the CAF U-23 Championship. The up-and-coming duo was called up by new Egypt coach Bob Bradley for last month's friendly with Brazil, featuring for the whole game in Doha.
