Masri chairman Kamel Abou-Ali indicated that he would welcome trading with Ahli despite the unrest triggered by the Port-Said disaster. The tension between Ahli and Masri reached its climax after 74 Reds' supporters had lost their lives in the infamous league meeting at Port-Said Stadium last February. Masri were handed a one-year ban as a result, which means they will be inactive next season, prompting other clubs to enquire about the team's available players. While declaring that some of the team's star are poised to join Zamalek during the one-year break, Masri chief Abou-Ali did not rule out talks with the other side of Cairo. Violence “If Ahli asked for players from our club, I will be the first one to talk to them,” the wealthy businessman told Dream TV. “We can sit and talk and we could also talk with the fans. We need to get rid of this violence and fanaticism for good. “I am always looking for the benefit of my club and if Masri players joined Zamalek and played in Africa, I would go to the stadium and support them.” Masri boast a number of talented players within their squad, with the likes of Ahmed Al-Shennawi, Mahmoud Abdul-Hakim and Issiaka Eliassou unlikely to remain inactive next term.
