Masry duo joins Smouha amid club exodus Keeper Amir Abdel-Hamid, midfielder Ayman Said both join Smouha as players continue to flee from suspended Port Said club
After Masry skipper Ahmed Fawzi left for Wadi Degla last month and with the team's international goalkeeper Ahmed El-Shennawy on the verge of joining Spanish side Real Betis, goalkeeper Amir Abdel-Hamid and midfielder Ayman Said on Tuesday both joined Smouha for a two-season free transfer. Masry players begun leaving after the EFA relegated the club to Egypt's second division following the February Port Said disaster, in which 70 fans were killed and hundreds injured. According to Masry President Kamel Abu-Ali, Burkinabe striker Abdoulaye Cisse, Malian defender Issiaka Eliassou, and midfielders Moemen Zakareya and Mahmoud Abdel-Hakim have all been linked to a possible move to Zamalek. Club management, however, has succeeded in renewing the contracts of the team's Olympic duo: midfielder Hossam Hassan and striker Ahmed Sherwida. Several recent reports had suggested that the two had plans to join ENPPI on loan in the next season. (For more sports news and updates, follow Ahram Online Sports on Twitter: @AO Sports)
