Zamalek have decided to relinquish their interest in Tunisia and Esperance duo Mejdi Traoui and Walid Hichri as their club are reluctant to sell. While the pair is believed to be tempted by a move to the Egyptian giants, Zamalek opened talks with Esperance last week, only for the latter to hold on to their key men. “We decided to end our interest after Esperance had refused to negotiate with us,” Zamalek assistant coach Ismail Youssef told FilGoal.com. “We also have no intention of activating any of the players' release clauses as long as Esperance want to keep them.” Traoui and Hichri have both been included in Tunisia's squad for this month's Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon/Equatorial Guinea. Tunisia-based alternative After they had failed in their bid to land the Esperance duo, Zamalek seem to be going for another Tunisia-based player in Club Africain midfielder Alexis Enam. The Whites said on their website that Enam, a 25-year-old Cameroonian defensive midfielder, is a transfer target for the club during the January window. Zamalek, who have Karimu Alhassan of Ghana and Benin Razak Omotoyossi in their roster, are keen to beef up their squad with another overseas player this winter.
