Ahli midfielder Abdullah Al-Saied is urging fans to relinquish their persistent use of fireworks in order to avoid further bans from the FA. The fireworks saga turned into a confrontation between the Egyptian football governing body and club fans, with Ahli and Zamalek ultras insisting on using banned canisters despite facing inevitable sanctions. Ahli hosted Dakhlia behind closed doors at Cairo Stadium on Wednesday, whereas Zamalek will be without their fans when they meet Police Union this month. “We love our fans and we know that their support gives us a massive boost, so we don't want them to miss our games,” Al-Saied, who joined Ahli from Ismaili in the summer, told FilGoal.com. “To avoid this in the future, I am asking fans to stop using fireworks in matches.” Al-Saied will be facing his former club Ismaili behind closed doors later in November as Ahli serve another ban by the FA. The league leaders have already played a couple of home games away from Cairo due to the same infringement in previous games.
