Indian tourist arrivals to Egypt grew 18.8 per cent in the first half of 2025 compared with a year earlier, Egypt's tourism ministry said on Monday. Tourism Minister Sherif Fathy held talks in Cairo with India's Ambassador Suresh K. Reddy and his delegation at the ministry's headquarters in the New Administrative Capital, to explore ways of strengthening cooperation in tourism and antiquities. The discussions focused on joint promotion, including roadshows in Indian cities, collaborative marketing campaigns and workshops linking travel operators from both countries. Egypt also suggested inviting Bollywood celebrities and Indian social media influencers on familiarisation trips to highlight the country's attractions. Minister Fathy said Indian travellers showed strong interest in cultural, leisure and wedding tourism, noting the latter was a promising segment for Egypt's tourism industry. He stressed the importance of Egypt's continued participation in tourism fairs in India to expand its presence in the market. Attribution: Amwal Al Ghad English
