Egypt's Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Sherif Fathy held high-level discussions with top tour operators and airline executives on the sidelines of the 2025 International Tourism Bourse (ITB) in Berlin, aiming to enhance inbound tourism and attract new investments. According to a Cabinet statement on Thursday, the talks involved major travel companies, including TUI Group, DER Touristik, Schauinsland Reisen, and ITAKA, as well as Edelweiss Air, with a focus on launching joint marketing campaigns and exploring investment opportunities—particularly in Egypt's rapidly developing North Coast. Key agreements were reached to organize familiarisation trips for industry representatives and implement collaborative promotional strategies to showcase Egypt's diverse tourism offerings. Minister Fathy also underscored Egypt's investor-friendly climate, highlighting government incentives for hotel development and an aviation support programme, which offers reduced landing fees and summer flight incentives to Luxor and Aswan. Industry leaders voiced strong confidence in Egypt's tourism potential, with ITAKA forecasting a 50 per cent surge in the number of Polish visitors and Edelweiss Air planning a 20 per cent expansion in flights to Egypt—reinforcing the country's position as a premier global travel destination.
