Dakhlia are set to lodge an official complaint to the Egyptian FA against the legitimacy of their 3-1 league defeat to Ahli, claiming an infringement by their opponents' fans. Holders Ahli hosted the league debutants behind closed doors as they are serving a ban imposed by the FA for their fans' persistent use of fireworks. However, some of the Ultras Ahlawy fans were clearly heard chanting their trademark slogans despite not appearing in the stands, almost violating the FA's decision as they still managed to enter the stadium's confines. The football governing body had previously announced that any attempt from fans - with their club already under ban - to enter the stadium would cost the respective team the game's points. “We will lodge an appeal to the FA to have Ahli denied the match's points due to their fans' infringement,” Alaa Abdul-Aal told Egyptian radio after the game. “Everyone heard the fans clearly chanting, I asked the FA representative to document the incident.” Wednesday's league fixture is the first for Ahli to be staged in the absence of their fans; a sanction they will also serve against Ismaili this month. The 37-time Egyptian champions had been ordered to play league games away from home against Harras Hodoud and Ittihad as a response to their fans' similar actions.
