Zamalek striker Ahmed Gafaar vowed to score against Military Production in Wednesday's league match in order to atone for his failure to find the net in the previous three games. Gafaar, who came across as a prolific hitman with Zamalek this term, couldn't get his name on the score sheet in the in the 1-0 win at Gaish on March 11th. The White Knights played out a tame goalless draw with the Dervishes later on Monday, to see their eight-match winning streak come to an end. But Zamalek got back to winning ways in no time upon sinking Gouna 1-0 away on Friday, thanks to a Sherif Ashraf strike. Gafaar, the Cairo side's current top scorer, squandered a clear-cut opportunity before making way for Ashraf. Twenty-Four-year-old Gafaar pledged to make amends and increase his seven-goal tally when Zamalek host Production. "All players were suffering from exhaustion as a result of the hectic schedule and the trip to Gouna," he told FilGoal.com. "I wasn't really at my best in this game." The former Egypt Telecom player could have scored against the coastal outfit when he towered unmarked to head a Hussein Yasser cross, but his effort went wide. "I spurned that chance because I was blinded by the sun," he explained. "But I promise to score in the next match with Millitary Production." Gafaar, who joined Zamalek from Telecom in the close season, has become a regular figure since the departure of Amr Zaki and Mido.
