Masri appealed against a yellow card which the referee has never shown, in an incident that's considered to be a one-off. The coastal club's officials thought that winger Ahmed Shedid was booked during the 2-0 loss at Ahli in the Egyptian Premier League. Subsequently, they sought to get the caution overturned but to their utter astonishment, it turned out that Shedid received no cards in Wednesday's game. "Masri sent us a letter, calling on the competitions committee (affiliated to the Egyptian FA) to overturn Shedid's yellow card," committee head Amr Barakat told FilGoal.com. "But upon checking the referee's match report, we found that the player wasn't booked as they claimed. "So basically, Masri were appealing against nothing."
