Francis Doe has apologized to his Ahli teammates and technical staff for being sent off against Masri, the Cairo club said on Saturday. The Liberian striker received a straight red card in Ahli's 1-1 Egyptian Premier League draw at Masri on Wednesday after appearing to head-butt midfielder Ashour Al-Adham. Ahli still managed to take the lead via a goal from veteran midfielder Ahmed Hassan but their numerical disadvantage eventually cost them a win when Ahmed Osman headed home late in the game. "Doe apologized for the red card he picked up against Masri," Ahli said in a brief statement on their official website. The 23-year-old's dismissal, which earned him a $10,000 fine, came few days after youngster Abdullah Farouk was also sent off in the 4-2 win over Gaish. Ahli then decided to double the fines for collecting yellow and red cards. Coach Hossam Al-Badri warned the players that such behavior would not be tolerated in the upcoming matches.
