Fines for collecting yellow and red cards have been doubled by Ahli, the club's football director said on Friday. "We took that decision because many players were booked lately," Hadi Khashaba said on Ahli's official website. The Cairo giants' decision comes two days after Francis Doe was sent off in the 1-1 Egyptian Premier League draw with Masri. The Liberian striker received a straight red card after appearing to head-butt Masri midfielder Ashour Al-Adham in the first half. He was consequently handed a $10,000 fine by Ahli. Youngster Abdullah Farouk was also dismissed in Ahli's 4-2 victory over Gaish last week, few minutes after coming on as a second-half substitute. Coach Hossam Al-Badri recently warned the players that such behavior would not be tolerated. "We act in the team's interests because the red cards of Doe and Farouk heavily affected us," Ahli added in a statement. The Egyptian champions did not disclose the amount of fines that will be imposed on booked players.
