Ahli imposed an EGP 20,000 fine on out-of-favor striker Ahmed Belal for hitting out at the club's technical staff. The 29-year-old, who has been confined to the bench over the last three seasons, accused Ahli coach Hossam Al-Badri of favoritism. Belal stated that frontline duo Francis Doe and Mohamed Talaat were named for Ahli's 2-1 win at Asyut Petroleum on Monday because of 'personal preference'. The former Konyaspor man was upset because he was snubbed despite being 'fit and ready'. The Red Devils sanctioned Belal only several hours after his media statements were released. "According to Ahli's rules and regulations, any player make statements to the media without permission shall be fined EGP 20,000," Ahli's football director Hadi Khashaba told FilGoal.com. "For this reason, Belal was fined. "He wasn't named in the squad due to technical reasons, nothing more," he added. Almost a year ago, Belal, who was once a prominent figure at the Cairo club, was fined EGP 25,000 for sounding his disgruntlement over some coaching staff decisions.
