Harras Hodoud forward Ahmed Eid will be fined and banned for his misconduct in the 2-2 draw with Smouha in the Egyptian Premier League on Thursday. The Egyptian international, who has a long history of on-pitch misbehavior, pushed the referee's hand when he was about to raise a caution for him, causing the yellow card to fly away. His inappropriate act as well as angry shouts caused the referee to send him off, and now a hefty punishment for Eid is on the cards. A source from the Competition Committee, affiliated to the Egyptian FA, told FilGoal.com that the 30-year-old's suspension will not exceed six matches. According to the FA's new regulations, a lack of sportsmanship while talking to the referee or one of his assistant results in a four-match ban and an EGP 5,000 fine. However, pushing the referee, spitting or swearing at him causes a player to be suspended for six matches and fined EGP 10,000. Eid's sanction will be determined pursuant either to the first or the second case. Last season, Zamalek winger Hazem Emam was banned for eight games after getting a red card for a similar incident. He was initially booked for dissent but received his marching orders moments later for snatching the card from the referee's grasp and throwing it away.
