Dutch side Feyenoord have enquired about the availability of Zamalek's right wing-back Hazem Emam, a source in the Cairo club said on Saturday. "Feyenoord sent a fax to Zamalek to know whether the club are ready to sell Emam," the source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, told FilGoal.com. "They want Zamalek to set their asking price for Emam as they seek to sign him in the summer." The diminutive winger burst onto the scene last season when he was promoted to Zamalek's first team as part of a squad overhaul. Then-Zamalek manager Michel Decastel heavily relied on his penetration skills down the right flank to break down opponents. Emam fell out of favor with French coach Henri Michel early this season but the arrival of Hossam Hassan gave him a new lease of life. The 21-year-old produced some impressive displays under the guidance of Hassan to prompt Egypt coach Hassan Shehata to include him in the Pharaohs' provisional African Cup of Nations squad. Although he missed out on the final squad for the tournament, Emam is regarded by many as a hot prospect for the future. "Zamalek board will take a final decision when coach Hassan gives his recommendation," the source added. Emam could be the third Egyptian to play for Feyenoord after midfielder Hossam Ghaly and goalkeeper Sherif Ekrami.
