The prospect of being compared to Flavio Amado does not concern Ahli's newly-signed striker Mohamed Fadl. Fadl, who came through Ahli's youth ranks, rejoined the Red Devils after his contract with Ismaili expired. Angolan striker Flavio joined Saudi side Shabab after enjoying four successful years with Ahli, during which he was named the Egyptian league top scorer twice. "Such comparison should not concern me. On the contrary, it should be a motivation for me to make a good impact," Fadl told Al-Hayat TV late on Friday. "I'm confident that I can impress with the help of my wonderful teammates." None of Ahli's summer arrivals managed to convince departed coach Manuel Jose that he was good enough to earn a regular place in the team's squad during the recently-ended season. The likes of Hussein Ali, Ahmed Hassan Farag and Hussein Yasser failed to prove their worth. Fadl remains calm nevertheless. "I know that any Ahli player plays under pressure, but I have the sufficient experience to deal with that," he added. "Yes, it is true that last summer arrivals were not that good but I believe I will not repeat their tales." Should none of them leave in the close season, Fadl will compete with Ahmed Belal, Osama Hosni, Mohamed Talaat, Farag and Hani Al-Egeizi for a place in Ahli's frontline.
