Wigan Athletic striker Mido said that he endured a tough spell at Middlesbrough, prior to finalizing his move to The Latics. The 26-year-old, who joined fellow Egypt compatriot Amr Zaki at Wigan, said that he was keen to leave Boro after becoming disillusioned with life at the Teeside club. "I wasn't happy at all at Middlesbrough," Mido said. "team's recent bad results played their role in the rise of many problems within the team." Relegation strugglers Middlesbrough are currently 18th in the Premiership table, after collecting 22 points from their first 21 games. "I needed to leave in order to experience the happiness that was missing at Middlesbrough. "After just one training session with Wigan and I'm already pleased to be here." Mido moved to Wigan in a deal which saw striker Marlon King head towards The Riverside.
