Egypt will be facing Uganda instead of Mali in an international friendly on August 14, the FA has confirmed. Egypt were supposed to meet Mali in Gouna this month, only for Uganda to announce they will be visiting the Pharaohs on the same day. Assistant manager Diaa Al-Sayed refused to acknowledge the Ugandan claim, saying the Cranes were only second option in case Mali pulled out. But now as the FA has confirmed the meeting, it seems Mali had informed Egypt they will not be available. Egypt have already reached the World Cup final qualifying round as they intend to move up the FIFA ranking table before facing Guinea in the last group game. Uganda are still on course to qualify but must beat leaders Senegal in the final group match.
