Egypt will be desperate to improve their position in the FIFA rankings in order to avoid a possible clash with a top African side in the World Cup final qualifying stage. The Pharaohs, currently 15th among African nations in FIFA rankings, marched through to the final qualifiers with a 1-0 win in Zimbabwe, with one game to spare in Group G against Guinea. The final qualifying stage will include five knockout ties, with the top-five ranked nations facing the bottom sides. According to the latest ranking table, the top five African nations are Ivory Coast, Ghana, Mali, Nigeria and Algeria. "We need to improve our ranking so we will have to win against Guinea," Egypt coach Diaa Al-Sayed told FilGoal.com. "We will also need victory in one more friendly game until the final qualifiers."
