Nile University President Essam Roshdy opened the fourth Egyptian Women Summit on Saturday, calling the event a platform for innovation, youth empowerment and the development of future-ready skills. Speaking at the two-day summit, held under the auspices of Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly, Roshdy said the university's mission extends beyond education, linking research and learning with real economic and societal impact. "Nile University is not just an institution; it is a vibrant ecosystem dedicated to empowering students, supporting entrepreneurs, and fostering innovation across Egypt," he said. "Women are not only partners in development; they are leaders who drive change, create markets and lead transformation in science, technology, and entrepreneurship." Roshdy highlighted the university's strategic partnership with the Top 50 Women Forum, one of Egypt's most influential organisations supporting women's empowerment across sectors. He said the collaboration reflects the university's commitment to integrating academia, civil society and the private sector to transform knowledge into impact. This year's summit features more than 28 hours of activities and over 160 student projects, engaging participants from across Egypt and abroad. An employment and entrepreneurship focus aims to equip young people with skills in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM), and prepare them for future market challenges. Roshdy praised the support of the National Council for Women (NCW), the Egyptian Cabinet, and the university's own innovation and entrepreneurship centres, saying the event demonstrates how collaborative efforts can turn talent and ideas into actionable solutions.
