Egypt will face Mali in a friendly match in Casablanca, Morocco on August 14, according to FA spokesman Azmi Megahed. The Pharaohs received a number of friendly proposals this month and eventually opted for the Mali offer, one month before the last World Cup qualifying game against Guinea. "Egypt will play against Mali in Morocco. We were hoping to hold the game at a home venue but we couldn't," FA official Megahed told FilGoal.com. Having already booked their place in Africa's final World Cup qualifying stage, Egypt will still be taking the Mali game seriously as they aim to improve their FIFA ranking. Victory over Mali and Guinea - in the final Group G game - could see the seven-time African champions maintain an outside chance of moving into the top five nations continentally. The final qualifying playoffs will see 10 group winners drawn into five home-and-way ties, with the seeding based on each nation's position in FIFA's September ranking.
