The Government will build more schools and educational facilities nationwide to ensure every child has access to good quality education, Egypt's First Lady Mrs. Suzanne Mubarak said in Luxor Governorate. Addressing a special function to celebrate the opening of two up-graded preparatory and secondary level schools for girls, Mrs. Mubarak said that the Government has launched a comprehensive plan for developing basic schooling with a focus on facility building and teachers' re-training. Mrs. Mubarak said that she launched the 100-school initiative in Luxor that would focus on the quality of education and making sure that students are equipped with what they need for the labour market needs now to meet economic development challenges. "One of the big challenges facing the country is that every child be educated," Mrs. Mubarak, who is a stalwart advocate for teachers, quality of education, educational governance, access and equality, told the ceremony. She said that upgrading education is one of her top priorities to promote human development and create an educated generation that contributes to the development of Egypt.
