ALEXANDRIA - Alexandria police arrested an industrial safety official in connection with the collapse of a small garment factory that left 26 workers dead and 10 others injured earlier this month, security sources said. They added that the official, whose name would be withheld for legal reasons, would remain in police custody for four days pending further investigations into the case. However, they said that the Public Attorney had released two industrial officials working at the local city council on a LE5, 000 bail each after accusing them of involuntary manslaughter and negligence that had led to the workers' death.
