CAIRO, Sept 9 , 2018 - Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukri has urged the new heads of the country's diplomatic missions abroad to sustain action for the development of Egypt's balanced relations with various world countries.
Speaking at a meeting on Sunday with the ministry's ambassadors and senior diplomats who will assume ambassadorial duties abroad, Minister Shoukri stressed that action to develop the country's external relations should be pursued within the framework of the independence of the Egyptian decision and Egypt's key regional role, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid said.
FM Shoukri congratulated the new ambassadors for having been designated to head the country's diplomatic and consular missions abroad by virtue of a Republican Decree that President Abdel Fattah El Sisi issued last month, spokesman Abu Zaid said in a statement reported by the Middle East News Agency (MENA).
The minister also expressed in the capability of the new ambassadors-designate to exert every possible effort for the sake of protecting Egypt's interests in the coming period and representing Egypt in such an honourable way that reflects the country's long history the aspirations of the people for a better future, the spokesman said.
Mr Shoukri also stressed his keenness on maintaining constant communication with the ministry's top officials and various sectors with a view to conducting accurate and continuous evaluation of all positions in a way that serves Egypt's interests, spokesman Abu Zaid added.
