FM asserts Egypt's keenness on promoting relation with S.Africa

CAIRO, June 30, 2018 (MENA) - Egypt's Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry on Saturday held a meeting with his South African counterpart Lindiwe Nonceba Sisulu, to discuss bilateral cooperation alongside several regional issues of mutual concern.
The meeting was held on the sidelines of the current preparatory meetings for the African Union summit in the Mauritanian capital, Nouakchott.
The Egyptian top diplomat congratulated his South African counterpart on assuming the post, Spokesman for the Foreign Minister Ahmed Abu Zeid said.
Shoukry voiced Egypt's keenness on developing bilateral relations in all domains, pointing out to the Egyptian-South African joint committee that is set to meet in the coming period, in addition to the high level visits that have been exchanged between both countries.
Shoukry asserted his eagerness to visit Pretoria, with the aim to consolidate cooperation between Egypt and South Africa.
He asserted the need for continuing coordination, mainly in files connected with the AU financial and institutional reform.
For her part, Sisulu thanked Shoukry for Egypt's keenness on boosting cooperation with South Africa, terming relations between both countries as historical, saying that she is looking forward to President Abdel Fattah El Sisi's visit to her country.
