Egypt will unveil a new package of initiatives aimed at supporting Egyptians abroad, including discounted housing, investment opportunities, and simplified banking services, Foreign Minister Badr Abdel-Aty said Sunday. Speaking at a press briefing, Minister Abdel-Aty also announced that the third edition of the Egyptians Abroad Conference will be held on August 3–4, with Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly delivering the opening address. Over 1,300 Egyptians from across six continents have registered to attend. "The presidential directives are clear—we must provide all possible support to our communities abroad," Minister Abdel-Aty said. "Our aim is to strengthen ties with Egyptians overseas while creating mutual benefits for both them and the state." The conference will bring together key ministries—including housing, health, education, agriculture, and banking authorities—to present targeted services and initiatives tailored to the needs of the diaspora. Among the new offerings is a real estate initiative in cooperation with the Ministry of Housing, providing fully built residential units in prime locations at discounted prices, payable in foreign currency. Reclaimed agricultural land will also be made available to expatriates for investment. A new protocol with the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) and the Foreign Ministry will soon allow Egyptians abroad to open bank accounts remotely, with support from embassies and consulates. "This is a first-of-its-kind initiative to remove barriers and improve financial inclusion for Egyptians overseas," Minister Abdel-Aty said. The government is also reviewing the reactivation of other incentives—including car import facilities and conscription-related services—based on community demand. The minister stressed that the goal is to deliver win-win outcomes. "We want to provide services that ease the lives of our citizens abroad, help them achieve returns, and ensure the country benefits as well—not a one-sided gain." Attribution: Amwal Al Ghad English
