GENEVA, May 18, 2018 (MENA) - Egypt's permanent representative to the UN Alaa Youssef condemned Friday the use of brutal force against peaceful Palestinian marches. In a session for the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) on Al Quds and the latest developments in Gaza Strip, Youssef reiterated the right of Palestinians for establishing their own independent state. "We followed with a great concern the latest developments in the Palestinian territories, especially in Al Quds (Eastern Jerusaelm) and Gaza Strip, and the targeting of Palestinians by the Israeli forces, which left dozens of citizens killed and hundreds injured," Youssef said. Egypt condemns such brutality against the peaceful marches and rallies, and reiterated its full support to the Palestinian cause, including establishing its own independent state, with Al Quds as its capital, he added. The Egyptian envoy called on the international community to launch transparent investigations into Israel's crimes and violations against Palestinians and show its solidarity with the Palestinian people.
