Pope Tawadros leads mass at end of 50th anniversary of Virgin Mary apparition

CAIRO, May 13, 2018 (MENA) - Pope Tawadros II of Alexandria and Patriarch of St. Mark Diocese led on Sunday a mass at Virgin Mary Church in Cairo's el-Zaitoun district.
The mass is held at the end of the three-day ceremonies on the 50th anniversary of the apparition of Virgin Mary in Egypt.
The apparition of the Virgin in Egypt in 1968 was a message of condolence to all Egyptians following the defeat of the Egyptian army to Israel in June 1967, the pontiff had earlier said.
El Zaitoun district was one of the key stops of the Holy Family's journey.
