Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly inspected Egypt pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai on Saturday.
During the visit, Madbouly also met with UAE's Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
Madbouly stressed the government keenness to ensure the success of the Egyptian participation in Expo 2020 Dubai. He added that "the government spares no effort to support the Egypt pavilion, to reflect the country's historic civilisation as a regional and global heavyweight as well as the great history it shares with the Middle Eastern and African countries."
The Egypt Pavilion, under the theme 'Legacy Empowering the Future', will take visitors on a journey of exploration, giving them the chance to discover how the country is evolving, and how Egyptians – the creators of history – are shaping a better future powered by innovation and opportunities. Once home to great, ancient civilisations, Egypt aims to lead humanity again in the coming decade, showcasing its contributions to global development. Inside the pavilion is a 360-degree virtual reality experience, offering an immersive tour of Egypt's natural and urban worlds, while interactive projected 3D maps deepen the journey.
The country will also host more than 90 seminars and workshops during Expo 2020, shedding light on the Egyptian Government's strategies and key projects for the coming decade, as well as three Business Forums focusing on the Suez Canal, the New Administrative Capital, and Invest in Egypt.
There will be cultural events every month, from modern and contemporary Egyptian art to music and cultural dance, including a performance by the Cairo Symphony Orchestra on 21-22 November. Various exhibitions will be hosted at Dubai Exhibition Centre (DEC), Expo 2020 Dubai, including a Torathna Exhibition, showing the beauty of handcrafted goods from all over Egypt.
Madbouly was accompanied by members of the official Egyptian delegation, and a number of ministers and officials in the United Arab Emirates, along with a group of journalists.
He added that the Egyptian participation in Expo 2020 Dubai also aims to present Egypt as a distinguished investment destination in the region due to its giant national projects in the field of infrastructure, measures to attract foreign investments, smart cities and industrial zones, in addition to the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone).
The Prime Minister also expressed his happiness with Egypt's national day celebration at Expo 2020 Dubai.
Egypt's National Day began with a flag-raising ceremony at Al Wasl Plaza, attended by Madbouly, who was welcomed Nahyan Mabarak Al Nahayan, UAE Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence and Commissioner General of Expo 2020 Dubai.
Moreover, the Prime Minister toured the Egyptian pavilion, which includes a display of the sarcophagus of the priest Psamtik bin Ozir, an archaeological sarcophagus that was recently discovered in the archaeological area of Saqqara.
During the visit, Egypt's Minister of Trade and Industry revealed that the Egyptian pavilion received more than 150,000 visitors so far, and is expected to reach 2.5 million visitors throughout the duration of Expo 2020 Dubai.
