Desktops dominate Egypt's personal computing device market in February

Desktops' share of the personal computing devices market in Egypt increased to 55% in February from 54.5% in January. The statistics come from web analytics company StatCounter, which pointed out that desktops surpassed mobile phones and tablets' market share.
According to StatCounter, mobile phones accounted for 42.2% of personal computing device sales in February, compared to 42.8% in January.
Meanwhile, tablet sales ranked third with a market share of 2.9% in February compared to 2.7% in January.
Samsung has continued to outperform its competitors in Egypt's mobile market despite a 1.5% decline in its market share in February. According to the StatCounter report, Samsung's market share fell to 39% of mobile phone sales from 40.5% in January 2018.
Huawei continued in second place in terms of mobile phone market share with a 14.1% share in February compared to 13.9% in January 2018, achieving slight growth in its market share.
Apple, meanwhile, achieved significant growth in its market share in February: 3.4%, as the market share of mobile sales in Egypt rose from 10.3% in January to record 13.7% in February.
Lenovo took fourth place in terms of mobile phone sales in Egypt in February, although its market share fell from 8.3% in January to 7.4% in February.
Infinix ranked fifth, despite its market share declining slightly in February reaching 4.9% versus 5.1% in January 2018.
According to the report, HTC reached a 3.3% share of the mobile phone market in Egypt in February compared to 3.1% in January, ranking sixth.
The mobile phone market share in Egypt of Tecno reached 2.2% in February compared to 2.3% in January 2018.
Nokia came last in terms of mobile market share in Egypt, with a market share of 1.7% in February compared to 2.1% in January 2018.
