"Egypt would not allow threatening the security of the Saudi Kingdom which is related to Egypt's national security," says Shoukry

Egypt's Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry participated Sunday in the mutual meeting of the foreign ministers and chiefs of the general staff of the member states of the Coalition for Supporting Legitimacy in Yemen, in Riyadh.
In his speech before the attendants, Shoukry said that Yemen lives its worst time in its history. He added that the elements of the political solution are clear, and the country has a political referentiality which is the resolution 2216 of the UN Security Council, the Gulf initiative, and the outcomes of the national dialogue.
"We have suggestions to move the negotiations and facilitating delivering aids to Yemen and ensuring that these aids are not being used for political purposes," said Shoukry. He stated that Egypt's position based in two principles: rejecting imposing the status quo by force, and keeping the Arab national security.
Shoukry stressed that the solution should be a political solution, accusing the Houthi group of hindering the agreement and increasing the humanitarian crisis.
"Egypt would not allow threatening the security of the Saudi Kingdom which is related to Egypt's national security," said Shoukry. He called on the international community to take its responsibility towards the aggressive actions against the Yemeni people.
The Coalition for Supporting Legitimacy in Yemen was formed by Saudi Arabia following the Houthi coup in September 2014. The coalition includes United Arab Emirates, Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Kingdom of Bahrain, Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Republic of Djibouti, Republic of the Sudan, Republic of Senegal, State of Kuwait, Kingdom of Morocco, Kingdom of Malaysia, Arab Republic of Egypt, and Republic of Yemen.
