Vodafone gains 623,600 subscribers from July to September 2016
Data usage services increased to 39.15m terabytes

Vodafone International revealed an increase in its number of subscribers in Egypt during the second quarter of the fiscal year (FY) 2016-2017.
According to the business results, the number of subscribers to the company's services increased from 39.043 million subscribers in the first quarter of 2016-2017 to 39.666 million subscribers in the second quarter of the FY, an increase of 623,600 customers .The company's unit in Egypt has become one of the largest units in Africa, the Middle East, and the Asia Pacific region. Vodafone's FY begins on 1 April and ends on 31 March.
The second quarter of the FY 2016-2017 saw the registration of 76,000 new monthly-paying customers, while the number of new prepaid customers increased by 547,000. The number of customers subscribed to the ADSL online services increased by 240,000 during the second quarter of 2016-2017, compared to an increase of 231,000 during the first quarter.
During the second quarter of FY 2016-2017, the number of minutes of voice services in Vodafone Egypt rose to 30.379m minutes, compared to 29.732m minutes in the first quarter, while the number of texts rose to 812m texts from 804m texts.
The amount of data usage of subscribers of Vodafone Egypt's Internet services increased from 32.04m terabytes during the first quarter of FY 2016-2017 to 39.15m terabytes in the second quarter of the same FY.
