Avaya eyes Egypt as 'strategic market' in MENA
Published in Daily News Egypt on 27 - 02 - 2012

CAIRO: Avaya has identified Egypt as a key, strategic market within the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, the firm said in a statement.
“While Egypt is undergoing tremendous change as a market, this period of transition creates an unprecedented opportunity for all organizations — from an emerging start-up to a government ministry — to put in place the collaborative, communications, and networking foundations that deliver a more streamlined, cost-effective and future-proof working environment,” said Nidal Abou-Ltaif, vice president of Avaya Emerging Markets.
Avaya delivers networking, communications and collaboration solutions to a diversity of customers in Egypt across the public and private sectors.
“More than ever in Egypt, social platforms like Facebook and Twitter are forcing new dynamics on how businesses should interact with next generations, and Avaya is delivering today collaborative and customer service solutions with social media at the core,” Abou-Ltaif added in the statement.
Avaya's Egypt operations, from a new office located in New Cairo, are working with channel partners to meet the needs of companies of all sizes, from government ministries to small and medium-sized businesses, the firm said.
Present in Egypt for 10 years, Avaya said that “collaboration solutions will be a critical business enabler in 2012.”
“Companies and governments have staff and offices in multiple locations, necessitating a communications and collaboration strategy which enables decision-makers to have the right information at the right time, in the appropriate context,” according to the statement.
Egypt has recently positioned itself as a hub for contact centers. Within this context, “an increasing number of organizations, from banks to telecoms providers, are working with Avaya to deploy contact centers which significantly improve customer service,” the statement said.
In April, Avaya will showcase its innovations at Cairo ICT.
