Avaya launches one-X Portal
Published in Daily News Egypt on 16 - 09 - 2007

DUBAI: Complementing its one-X range of communication solutions, Avaya launched the web-based one-X Portal - an integrated browser-based interface to Avaya telephony, messaging, conferencing and mobility services.
One-X brings the full power of unified communications to the PC in a single, intuitive and powerful tool.
"With the launch of one-X Portal, we are enriching our one-X portfolio and complementing our one-X desktop and mobile editions, said Roger El Tawil, Mena director channel and marketing, Avaya.
"The need for unified communications in the Middle East has become a pressing business concern due to a number of market dynamics. The increase in working remotely, the growth of business travel, and the regional demand for constant email and Internet access are driving adoption of Unified Communications solutions. The introduction of the Avaya one-X Portal reflects our understanding of regions business requirements and the importance of delivering mobility- and productivity-enhancing solutions.
This highly cost-effective one-X Portal simplifies advanced communications for workers while easing management. It provides employees with a rich user experience on any computer, and also simplifies access to advanced communications, improving responsiveness and collaboration, while reducing costs.
Users of Avaya one-X Portal will witness key benefits in the form of a single unified interface that takes care of their messaging, telephony, conferencing and mobility. The solution complements the use of the desk phone while in the office and supports remote workers from any location.
With one-X's Highly Productive Mobility Functions, users can customize the mobility functions to fit their working environment. This increases the probability of a caller being connected on the first attempt, as calls are directed to simultaneously ring at the office and on the mobile device or elsewhere so they can be answered remotely.
The Portal needs no application software to be installed on end users systems for basic functions, and conforms to network demands. Optional functions and software can be downloaded in real-time as needed.
The Avaya one-X Portal increases the control users have over their communications by enabling them to define with whom they will interact in real time. It allows users to streamline back office activities and make front office work more productive.
Avaya delivers communications solutions that help companies transform their businesses to achieve marketplace advantage. More than one million businesses worldwide, including more than 90 percent of the Fortune 500, use Avaya solutions.
