CAIRO: Wigan Athletic target Amr Zaki has sent a letter to the Egyptian FA demanding to terminate his contract with Zamalek. The combative striker claims that Zamalek haven t paid him his wages since November last year. I m sure the Egyptian FA will give me the green light to terminate my contract with Zamalek, Zaki said. According to the FA regulations, I should be able to leave because the club did not fulfill its financial obligation towards me. Zaki apparently wants to depart Zamalek due to his strained relationship with the club s chairman Mamdouh Abbas. Earlier this year, Abbas promised Zaki he would allow him to move abroad following the Egyptian Cup final. However, Abbas is reluctant to accept Wigan s offer to sign Zaki on a season-long loan. But Zaki, who scored Zamalek s winner against his former club ENPPI in the Egyptian Cup final, is determined to fulfill his dream of playing in Europe.
