Egypt exported around 4,150 food consignments during the week of 8–14 November, totalling 175,000 tons and involving 1,420 companies, the National Food Safety Authority (NFSA) said on Sunday. The shipments covered nearly 850 food products, including vegetables, tubers, fruits, grains, flour, prepared fruit and vegetable items, and other processed foods. Among vegetables, sweet potatoes led exports with 12,000 tons, followed by onions and various beans at 7,000 tons each, bringing the total exported vegetable varieties to 40, amounting to 40,000 tons. In the fruit category, pomegranates topped exports at 12,000 tons, followed by mangoes (5,000 tons), with 30 fruit varieties exported for a total of 35,000 tons. The exports were distributed to 185 countries, with Saudi Arabia, Spain, Italy, and Sudan among the largest importers, the NFSA said. Attribution: Amwal Al Ghad English
