Egypt exported around 190,000 tons of food products over a one-week period, with Arab countries topping the list of importers, the National Food Safety Authority (NFSA) said in its 40th weekly report for 2025 on Sunday. The report, covering the period from 25-31 October, showed that Egypt exported 4,275 food consignments from 1,390 companies, encompassing around 840 product types, including vegetables, fruits, grains, and processed foods. Sweet potatoes and beans led the list of vegetable exports, each recording about 10,000 tons, followed by onions at 5,000 tons. In total, vegetable exports reached 36,000 tons across 32 varieties, according to NFSA data. Among fruits, pomegranates topped the chart with 12,000 tons, while mangoes and strawberries followed with around 8,000 tons each. Overall, 35 fruit varieties were exported, also totaling around 36,000 tons. The report said Egyptian food exports reached 190 international markets, with Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Lebanon, Sudan, and Morocco ranking as the top importers.
