Egyptian Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly said on Wednesday that President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi's recent remarks on Gaza underscore Egypt's consistent position on the Palestinian cause and its push for a just, comprehensive settlement. Speaking at the weekly Cabinet meeting in New Alamein City, Prime Minister Madbouly said the president's speech and his recent calls with world leaders highlighted the need for intensified international efforts to secure a Gaza ceasefire, exchange hostages and detainees, and ensure adequate humanitarian aid reaches the enclave. He said Egypt backs international initiatives aimed at resolving the conflict peacefully and values steps by some countries to recognise the State of Palestine, adding such moves could help secure Palestinians' legitimate rights and advance peace in the Middle East. The prime minister also stressed that Cairo continues to work with all concerned parties to restore Palestinian rights and achieve regional stability. Attribution: Amwal Al Ghad English
